Possessive
A possessive is a word that shows ownership. It shows that someone or something owns something else.
When a noun is singular, add an apostrophe and an -s ('s) to the end of the word to make it a singular possessive noun.
book cover → book’s cover
lizard tail → lizard’s tail
When a noun is plural and ends with an –s, add an apostrophe after the –s (s') to make it a plural possessive noun.
clowns red noses → clowns’ red noses
girls dresses → girls’ dresses
When a noun is plural but does not end with an –s, add an apostrophe and an –s ('s) to make it a plural possessive noun.
